Chicago's Loop has a magnificent collection of works of public art greatly influenced by France. Their creators lived in France or spent time there during a critical period of their artistic development. Our vice-president and longtime Chicago Architecture Foundation docent Bill Shapiro will present a virtual tour of these masterpieces and a commentary on their artistic features and history.

Join us at 1 PM on Monday, September 18, at the Wilmette Public Library, 1242 Wilmette Avenue. Free to members and students, and to non-members and guests attending a program for the first time ($10 thereafter). A tea and social hour in French will follow the presentation.

Please remember to reserve your spot. Email programmes@AFnorthshore.org or RSVP at our Meetup site.

★★★
What a pleasure to welcome more than 30 participants at our Café Conversation Matin. The group’s diversity was exceptional: participants ranged in age from 23 to 91, and hailed from Poland, Belgium, Louisiana, Cameroon, England, Holland, Senegal, Austria and, of course, the U.S.

I’m very proud to belong to a group that is so diversified; it’s diversity that makes this country so great and strong. In my opinion, it’s an “all-American” group.
